BABYLISS SECRET CURL: TESTED AND APPROVED

Online Fashion Store fell in love ... and became the owner of the famous Babyliss Curl Secret. We always wish the opposite that what we have on the capillary side, and therefore my straight hair and I, we dream of pretty curls and volume since always. 

In the past, I used curling irons, not very frankly practical, alone, it was mission impossible. After watching some videos of the Curl Secret (which I called Secret Curl internally for months… I guess it has to do with the game Secret Girls that my unconscious has kept in mind ), I got carried away by the sirens marketing and I cracked, despite my inner self screaming "  noooo don't do that, you will use it once and it will end up in a cupboard! ".

Because I have to admit one thing: on the hairstyle side, I am zero. I don't have patience, I don't know how to do anything really good, and the simple fact of staying with my arms in the air for more than 30 seconds to do my hair tires me (yes, I'm going from far away).

So here I am with the beast in my hands, a little apprehensive: will I burn my hair? Will the loops hold? Is it going to take me half a day to do my mop entirely?

Then the miracle happened.

Already, I passed the first loop on the first try. It's encouraging. Then there were a few failures, due to the fact that I took too thick locks (in this case the device beeps and stops winding the lock). Once we grab the thing, well: it rolls.
Me the crap in hairdressing, I managed to make myself curls all over the head alone. Yes, even behind. Without sighing impatiently and without hurting my arms.

Well, I will not use it every morning for pleasure (my sleep time is far too precious ), but once in a while for a particular occasion, I take it out. It is not super restrictive, the result is very pretty and earns me compliments every time, even from strangers (the last time at the post office, before going to the Victoires de la Beauté, we know complimented on my "pretty hairstyle"). Unbelievable!

Here, for all these reasons, I love the Curl Secret  and I do not regret my purchase, and yet I had a lot of doubts about it.

Presentation: What is the Curl Secret?

It is an automatic looper. No need to wrap the wicks around a heating iron ("old-fashioned"), it's the device that manages everything: it winds, it heats, it warns when the job is done.

How does the Curl Secret work?

The device offers 2 temperature positions to select according to your hair type: 210 ° C for fine or sensitive hair, or 230 ° C for normal to thick hair (I chose 210).
We then choose from the 3 heating duration positions: 8s, 10s or 12s (if you want wavy, flexible or tight loops).

Then, place in the center of the Curl Secret a fine lock of hair, perfectly disentangled. The pliers are closed and the device winds the wick automatically. We keep the clamp closed while waiting for the indicator beeps when the close beeps are heard, we can release and release the loop.

What length of hair does the Curl Secret work on?

Well, it works on long, medium-length hair, and even on shorter hair. As long as there is enough length for the device to catch a wick and be able to wind it, it's good.

You see in the photos that I have a nice length (more for a long time: tomorrow, hairdresser!). On long hair, you should know that the curls will relax, necessarily. It can be tempting to adjust the temperature as much as possible, depending on the expected effect ... Personally, I like the light ripples and I'm always afraid of burning the lengths, so I stay at the minimum.

Does Curl Secret damage hair?

Just stay reasonable and act with a minimum of common sense: if you use a heater too often, you will weaken your hair. Likewise, do not ignore protective and restorative care. In my case, and therefore a punctual use and care adapted to my lengths, the device did not damage my hair at all.
